Hecate (Hekate meaning 'Worker from Afar)) is the ancient goddess of magick, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy. Hekate was a torch-bearing goddess of the night. She was accompanied by a train of ghosts and her passing was marked by the baying of hounds. She was perhaps also a goddess of the moon or else of moonless, starlit nights. Her name is written in ancient Greek, her epithets of Chthonia (of the Underworld), Enodia (of the Crossroads), Aidônaia (of the Crossroads), Nyktipolos (Nightwandering). This Altar Banner is printed on a 24” x 24” cloth and is ideal for altars, walls or "prayer cloths" for spiritual practices.
