A sigil of the King of Demons, the Fallen Archangel (Seraphim) of vast power. Samael was considered in the Midrash to be the greatest prince in heaven. The celestial powers and Seraphim had six wings each, but SAMAEL has twelve wings. Samael is identified in ancient near eastern traditions to be none other than Satan in the old and new testaments, the Prince of Demons and Angel of Rome as well. Samael is also known in Gnostic traditions, as well as being the Angel of Death and Poison. Designed by Michael W. Ford to reflect classical elements of Samael along with specific planetary associations with Mars and ancient Rome. 24" x 24" inches.
This altar cloth features a one sided print with hemmed edges. Care instructions: Cold water delicate cycle, hang to dry. No bleach.
