Later Christian tradition came to use the Latin word for "Morning Star" (Venus, Bearer of Light), Lucifer, as a proper name for the devil; as he was before his fall from the tyrant of heaven and to become the Lord of this World, Prince of the Powers of Air and the anti-hero who embodies strength and knowledge. As a result, Lucifer has become a by-word for Satan/the Devil in the church and in popular literature as in Dante Alighieri's Inferno and John Milton's Paradise Lost.
Artist Derek W Frost gives us his vision of Lucifer as King of Hell with his flaming trident and chained souls. A frightening though beautifully detailed vision in cold cast bronze resin standing nearly 10 inches tall.
